The story goes that once a cherry tree Beside an apple tree did grow, And there a boy once met his bride to be Long, long ago 이야기는 그렇게 이어져 가요, 언젠가 사과나무 한 그루 곁에 벚나무 한 그루가 자랐는데 한 소년이 그의 색시 될 사람을 만났고... 먼, 먼 옛날에. The boy looked into her eyes It was a feat to enthrall The breezes started their sighs The blossoms started to fall 소년은 소녀의 두 눈을 드려다 보았는데 그 것은 소년의 마음을 사로잡는 눈길이었어요. 산들바람이 그들의 탄식과 함께 하였고 활짝 핀 꽃들은 지기 시작했어요. And so that's why the poets often write When there's a new moon up above It's Cherry Pink And apple blossom white When you're in love 이것이 새 달이 하늘 높이 밝고 벚꽃이 연분홍으로 사과 꽃은 하얗게 만발할 때 사람들은 사랑에 빠진다고 시인들이 늘 그렇게 시를 쓰는 이유이지요.                          체리 핑크 맘보 - 현인   Pat Boone   국내에 '체리핑크 맘보' 라는 이름으로 널리 알려진 이 곡은 본래는 샹송으로 1950년 Jacques Larue가 작사하고 Pierre Louiguy가 작곡한 곡입니다. 원제목은 Cerisiers Roses Et Pommiers Blancs(장미빛 벚나무와 하얀 사과나무 꽃) 인데 처음 부른 사람은 '아빠와 함께 춤을'부른 '앙드레 끄라보' 입니다. 영어제목으로는 그 이듬해인 1951년 Mack Davis에 의해서 'Cherry Pink And apple Blossom White'이 되었고 이 곡을 쿠바출신의 맘보킹 Perez Prado (1916~1989)에 의해 1955년 4월부터 7월까지 챠트 No.1을 차지했고, 또한 그해 Jane Russel이 출연한 영화 Underwater(해저의 황금) 에도 주제곡으로 사용되었다고 합니다. Pat Boone의 곡은 1960년 그의 앨범 'Great!, Great!,Great!'에 수록되었는데 그의 솜사탕같이 부드럽고 감미로운 음성때문인지 더욱 분위기가 사는 것 같습니다.
