Yesterday Once More - Carpenters

 

When I was young I'd listen to the radio

내가 어렸을 때 난 라디오를 자주 들었었지

Waiting for my favorite songs When they played I'd sing along

It made me smile.

나오기를 기다리면서 라디오를 듣곤 했었죠 좋아하는 노래를 기다리면서

그 노래가 나오면 난 따라 불렀지 그리고 미소를 지었었지.

 

Those were such happy times And not so long ago

How I wondered where they'd gone

그 땐 참 행복한 시절이었고 그렇게 오래 전 일도 아닌데

그 행복한 시절이 어디로 사라져 버렸는지 궁금해요

 

But they're back again Just like a long lost friend All the songs I loved so well.

하지만 마치 오랫동안 연락없이 지냈던 친구처럼 그 기억들이 다시 살아나는 것 같네요.

난 그 노래들을 너무도 좋아했었죠.

Every Sha-la-la-la Every Wo-o-wo-o Still shines

그 노래중 샬랄라∼∼우우우∼∼ 하는 부분은 아직도 아름다워요

Every shing-a-ling-a-ling That they're starting to sing's So fine.

노래 시작할 때 싱얼링∼∼이라고 부르는 부분도 좋아요.

 

When they get to the part Where he's breaking her heart

It can really make me cry

노래 가사에서 남자가 여자를 가슴 아프게 하는 부분에 이르면

마치 예전으로 돌아간 듯 난 눈물이 날 것만 같아요

Just like before It's yesterday once more.

다시한번 그때로 돌아갈 수 있으면 좋을텐데

 

Looking back on how it was In years gone by

And the good times that I had Makes today seem rather sad

So much has changed.

세월이 지나 과거엔 어땠는지 뒤돌아 보니 오늘날은 내가 누렸던 그 행복한

시절들에 비해 좀 처량해 너무 많은 것들이 변해버렸네요
